The Path to Prosperity: Saving Medicare, Visualized

This is Paul Ryan's second budget visualization. This video lays out the clear choice United States of America faces on Medicare: "Will Medicare become a program in which a board of bureaucrats manages its bankruptcy by denying care to seniors? Or will leaders work together to save and strengthen Medicare by empowering seniors to choose health care plans that work best for them, with less support for the wealthy and more help for the poor and the sick? House Republicans have advanced solutions to save Medicare. Instead of working with us, the leaders of the Democratic Party have opted to play politics with the health security of America's seniors."

Science R&D Spending in the Federal Budget

Federal funding for basic science, including stem-cell research and climate-change initiatives, could hinge on what happens in the new House of Representatives, which will be controlled by the Republicans. However, if the past is any guide, dollars allocated for science will transcend both politics and the economy. Here's a look at science funding over the years made by Karl Tate from livescience.com.

Representing the US Military Budget by 3D Computer Graphics Imagery

Following the hyperzoom style of visualization artist Chris Jordan, the movie attempts to represent the US military budget of $549 billion dollars as a heap of 88,548 Abram M1 tanks. This all fully rendered as sharp 3D computer graphics imagery (CGI) including some simulated gravitational physics.
